Dr. Jeffrey Tauth Marks Three Decades of Cardiovascular Care in Arkansas

Dr. Jeffrey G. Tauth, M.D., F.A.C.C., a board-certified interventional cardiologist and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, has spent more than 30 years providing cardiovascular care to patients in Hot Springs and the surrounding communities of central and western Arkansas.

Dr. Tauth specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, heart rhythm disorders, and heart failure. His clinical focus includes patients presenting with chest pain, shortness of breath, and angina who require initial cardiac evaluation, as well as those managing ongoing care following a heart attack, bypass surgery, or prior stenting procedure. He performs more cardiac stent procedures than any other cardiologist practicing in the Hot Springs area.

“Every patient who walks through the door has a different history and a different set of circumstances,” said Dr. Tauth. “My job is to understand that history completely and make sure the treatment reflects it. That kind of individualized care is easier to deliver when you are not operating inside a system that makes decisions for you.”

Dr. Tauth earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and completed his fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease before establishing his practice in Hot Springs. Over the course of his career, he has built one of the most active interventional cardiology practices in central Arkansas, with a patient base that extends well beyond Hot Springs to communities throughout the region.

Among those communities is Mena, Arkansas, a city of roughly 5,500 residents located approximately 90 miles northwest of Hot Springs in the Ouachita Mountains. Dr. Tauth has operated a satellite clinic in Mena for more than 25 years, traveling there three times each month to see patients who would otherwise have limited access to specialized cardiac care. No other cardiologist has maintained a comparable presence in Mena over that period.

“There are patients in Mena I have been seeing for 20 years,” said Dr. Tauth. “That continuity matters in cardiology. When you know a patient’s history that well, you catch things earlier and you make better decisions.”

Dr. Tauth practices through Hot Springs Heart and Vascular, the only independent cardiology clinic in Hot Springs. The practice does not operate within a hospital system or corporate ownership structure, a distinction Dr. Tauth said allows his team to schedule patients more quickly, respond to urgent calls without routing them through a call center, and make clinical decisions based solely on what is best for each individual patient.

In April 2026, Dr. Tauth opened the Vascular Center of Hot Springs, the first cardiovascular ambulatory surgical center in central Arkansas, which operates as a procedural extension of his clinic. The center performs cardiac and peripheral arterial stenting, angioplasty, atherectomy, and cardiac device implantations including pacemakers, defibrillators, and implantable cardiac monitors.
